Tasty lunch

Though eating better hasn’t been a specific “I will do such and such” goal so far this year, I am trying to make a habit of not being a carnivorous pig with a sweet tooth.

But I’m also not really cooking much yet because my kitchen is verging on useless and I hate doing dishes. So, I’ve been exhausting my overpriced frozen food options, and have hit on a good one, I think.

Morning Star makes a vegetarian barbecue riblet that is pretty tasty. It actually kind of reminds me of the riblets they used to serve in the lunch line at grade school, middle school and high school.

Slap that puppy between two slices of whole wheat bread and add a single-serving bag of Sun Chips and you’ve got yourself a meatless meal. And to calm my sweet tooth I added 2 Keebler Soft-Batch chocoloate chip cookies.

It was all very good, but I think I have a cavity. Boo. Guess I should have been drinking milk instead of Diet Coke…

January Goal and a Bit of the Blues

Two weeks in and all I can say is this has been one frustrating month. And I’m not even sure why, I’ve just been overcome with this general sense of stressy discontentment.

I guess deciding my apartment no longer fits my needs, realizing the new managers are verging on incompetent and beginning the arduous process of apartment hunting will do that.  But anyway. I met none of my December goals or challenges.

I would shift them over to being January goals and challenges, but given that I have to give my complex 60-days notice if I’m not renewing my lease, it’s imperative that I have a new place lined up by Jan. 31.

As such, my only goal is to find a new place to live.

I elected not to do the photos, because there’s clearly not going to be any visible change with those numbers.  So, I’m going to continue monthly stats updates like this, including the change from the previous month, but every quarter (March, June, September, December) I’m going to do the photo update and include change from the baseline stats.

For this month, I have to wonder about some of those numbers.  I think some of the change probably comes from a discrepancy in where the tape meaure was. So, for now, I’m considering waist to be at the underwear line (just under my first big fat roll, blech) .

I’m actually kind of surprised I didn’t have more pluses in the change box. I didn’t really add any exercise beyond sporadic Wii use and uber shopping in December, and I kind of feel like I mostly ate my way through the month.
